ICP Pultruded Gratings

ICP Pultruded Gratings are pultruded bar type gratings that can be designed and used like traditional metal grates but have the inherent benefits of fiberglass. These problem solving products are ideal replacements for steel or aluminum gratings.

Material used in ICP Pultruded Grating

  • Fiberglass reinforcements (fibers and mat)

  • Thermosetting resin system

  • Pultrusion process for outstanding characteristics.

  • Bearing bars use both longitudinal (glass roving) & multidirectional (glass mat) reinforcements.

  • A synthetic surfacing veil to provide strength & corrosion resistance.

  • Continuous glass mat provides strength in the transverse direction and prevents chipping, cracking & lineal fracturing.

  • Resins system used for added corrosion resistance & UV protection.

ICP fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) gratings has not only been engineered for strength, but also to overcome corrosion problems normally encountered in chemical, electronic, food, beverage, aircraft, automotive, plating and textile industries, where corrosive products are encountered. These are areas where metal gratings rapidly deteriorate, causing a constant maintenance problem.

Product Features

  • Corrosion Resistant - Glass reinforced pultrusions have low thermal conductivity and are electrically non-conductive

  • Superior Strength - 50% higher tensile strength than hot rolled steel and better impact resistance.

  • Electrical Insulator - The fiberglass composite is both non-magnetic and electrically non-conductive.

  • Low Thermal Conductivity - Reduces the need for insulation and prevents the formation of condensation.

  • Lightweight - Lighter and less dense than aluminum, fiberglass is easy to handle and economical to transport.

  • Dimensional Stability - Expansion and contraction is 24% and 50% less than aluminum and steel, respectively.

  • Fabrication - Cutting and machining can be done with diamond tipped router, easily joined mechanically.

Other Important Features

  • d'z" Lasts longer than steel or aluminum

  • d'z" Lighter than aluminum

  • d'z" Corrosion resistant and flame retardant

  • d'z" Lower thermal conductivity

  • d'z" Cost effective

  • d'z" Safety non-skid surface (optional)
